A central Amsterdam street historically known for leather bars, fetish venues, and gay saunas, running parallel to the Herengracht canal. The quieter counterpart to Reguliersdwarsstraat, serving the leather and kink community.
Pink Triangle Monument Amsterdam
Three pink granite triangles arranged in Westermarkt Square, dedicated in 1987 as one of the world's first monuments to persecuted gay men and lesbians. The Homomonument's design by Karin Daan links the past, present, and future of LGBTQ+ struggle and community.

Milkshake Festival
Amsterdam's vibrant queer arts and music festival held at Westerpark each July. Multiple stages with international acts, art installations, and a celebratory atmosphere drawing tens of thousands of LGBTQ+ visitors and allies annually.
One of the world's oldest gay bars, opened in 1927 by Bet van Beeren on the Zeedijk. Famous for its ceiling decorated with donated neckties and its defiant history through WWII — a beloved Amsterdam landmark and pilgrimage site for queer visitors.
Zeedijk Queer Historic District
Amsterdam's oldest queer street, anchored by Café 't Mandje (est. 1927), one of Europe's first gay bars. The Zeedijk was the centre of Amsterdam's gay scene in the early 20th century and remains a landmark of Dutch LGBTQ+ history.
Reguliersdwarsstraat
Recognized LGBTQ+ neighborhood, gay village, or queer travel district in Amsterdam; useful for city guides, walking itineraries, nightlife clusters, and neighborhood context.
